ShowRecorder is an app by Eric Dahl for recording your mixer's channels on iPhone and iPad. This page explains what it does with your information. In short: nothing leaves your device.
What ShowRecorder collects
Nothing. ShowRecorder has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sends no data to the developer or to anyone else.
Your recordings
Recordings, Markers, channel names and Show reports are stored only on your iPhone or iPad and on the Drive folder you choose. They are shared only when you share them yourself, for example with AirDrop or the Files app.
Microphone
ShowRecorder asks for microphone access because that is how iOS and iPadOS let an app record from any audio interface, including your mixer or another USB audio interface. Audio is used only to make your recordings and to show the level meters.
Local network
ShowRecorder can connect to your mixer on the local network to read its channel names and colors. Find Mixers looks for it on your local network, and the app talks only to your mixer, only on your local network.
This website
The ShowRecorder app collects nothing. This website, showrecorder.app, counts visits with PostHog so the developer can see which pages are read and where visitors come from. The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser or on your device. To tell visits apart, PostHog turns your IP address and browser details into an anonymous hash that changes every day, and does not keep the address or the details. The IP address is dropped by our analytics provider, so it is not stored with any visit. The same person on two different days therefore looks like two visitors, and visits are not linked to an account or to the app. It records the page you open, the page or site that linked you here, and your browser and device type. It also counts clicks on a few links (Join the beta, the App Store, the comparison page and the email address) and notes which page they were on. It does not record your screen, what you type or any other clicks. To have your visits removed, email the developer.
Launch email list
If you leave your email in the form at the top of this website, it goes to Buttondown, the email service the developer uses, along with the topic you pick: the App Store launch, the X32 and M32, or Android. It is used only to send you email about that topic. You confirm the address first, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. The form sets no cookies. To be removed sooner, email the developer.
In-app purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple. The developer does not receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information.
Children
ShowRecorder does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
